This is Joe

Growing up in a small town helped shape Joe into the man and candidate he is today. He learned first hand about heart and hard-work by his father, a social worker, and mother, a nurse. His strong work ethic and American values will serve the people of the 4th legislative district.

Through grit, determination, and hard work he plans to see the 4th legislative district grow and thrive. Joe knows how to work for his community. He’s a two-term elected school board official, previous board member of both Meals on Wheels Erie and North East Community Foundation, a member of the PA Farm Bureau, as well as a volunteer fireman and soon to be EMT for his hometown. He loves to find, create, and implement solutions to community problems, listening to his peers and constituents needs and values while doing so.

Working upon the foundation his predecessor created, Joe will proactively work for you to grow our district and Pennsylvania as a whole. He knows if we are going to see progress, it will come from bringing the values of our home towns that make up the 4th District to Harrisburg.

Core Values & The Issues

Small Business

As a previous business owner, He knows the long hours and dedication it takes to run a business.  Our local business owners are creating good jobs that reinvest in our communities and surrounding areas.

Farming / Agriculture

Not a job for the faint of heart.  Families who work to feed America, need to make sure they can earn a living wage and ensure they can pass down the farm generation to generation.

Tax Dollars

Pennsylvanians live on a budget, so should Pennsylvania. I’ll work tirelessly to make sure every dollar is not a wasted dollar and to reinvest back into our communities.

First Responders

Our first responders selflessly give us their all.  They deserve to have the tools, training, and support. First Responders, EMT’s, and Firefighters need a louder voice in Harrisburg, Cancilla will make sure that happens.

2nd Amendment

Pennsylvanians and Americans have the right to bear arms. As State Representative, Cancilla will always protect lawful gun owners.

Senior Citizens

Cancilla will work to ensure our senior citizens have affordable healthcare and a way to retire and not have to worry.

Education

As State Representative, Cancilla will champion for high quality public schools. He will pursue partnerships with schools and local businesses to ensure there are opportunities for graduates to work and not have to leave home.

Women’s Rights

Women must have access to healthcare when they need it. Women should have the right to choose and make decisions about their bodies. Since this area is becoming more of an issue of states’ rights, we must elect officials who will prioritize and fight for women’s rights.

Donate

Donate to the campaign today. We need a loud and proactive voice in Harrisburg. Every donation helps to make that happen. Our conservative voices need to be heard.

Senate Bill 324

Assisting homeless, foster care students: This week the Senate signed Senate Bill 324 (Sen. Langerholc, R- Cambria), enabling the bill to be sent to Gov. Wolf, who now has until Jan. 28 to take action. Senate Bill 324 is intended to help keep students who are either experiencing homelessness or are in foster care on track to graduate high school. The bill requires public school entities to designate a point person for the student who would review past transcripts and provide support needed to help the student graduate in a timely manner. The point of contact must work with school counselors, school social workers, home and school visitors and school psychologists to facilitate the prompt placement of such students into appropriate courses and make sure the students stay on track to graduate. PSBA worked on an amendment when the bill was in the Senate to allow a point of contact to be a third-party, add consultation with a student’s individualized education program (IEP), clarify that the school shall comply with laws for a student with a disability, and make other technical changes.
